Happy Holidays 2011!
Here are some pictures from the holiday celebration we shared before we left Washington.
This is how our morning started while we made our Top Pot Doughnut Bread Pudding, as per Dustin's Christmas tradition.
Here is our tree, decorated mostly with Texas ornaments my mom bought for us after Christmas last year as well my large collection of husky ornaments. Now we'll have to start collecting border collie ornaments!
Here is our little border collie, dressed as a reindeer a la Max from How The Grinch Stole Christmas. She wasn't a very happy camper. She quickly shook her head until the antlers ended up around her neck. We didn't keep these on her very long— only long enough to take pictures. We aren't THAT mean.
Bonnie was much happier without her reindeer antlers.
Here are some of the gifts we got for each other.
I bought Dustin a home beer brewing kit...
And a bag for his tennis racket.
I got a whoopie pie pan. As you can tell, I'm quite excited to try some new recipes.
I also got a book about substituting ingredients in the kitchen.
Lucky Bonnie got an iPod...
As well as a myriad of other holiday toys.
She also got a lump of coal in her stocking (actually carob flavored dog treats). She's a pretty spoiled little girl.
Our faux Christmas morning was really fun and a new tradition I think we'll have to continue next year!
We're taking a break from cooking and baking until next year. Happy holidays! See you in 2012!
