Honey Sesame Chicken

We love watching Big Bang Theory together, and we love the idea of getting takeout Chinese food and having a fun night in as they so often do on the show. Unfortunately getting takeout Chinese is not particularly healthy, especially my favorite dish— sweet and sour chicken. I just love that sauce. I could dip anything in that. And unfortunately unless you drive all the way to Chinatown, it's difficult to find exceptionally good Chinese food. It always seems to disappoint.

Fortunately we've discovered that making your own take-out style Chinese food is easy (with the help of a crockpot) and pretty healthy (no frying involved, but you still get an awesomely textured outside). Go here and check it out. I didn't alter the recipe, and served it over a bed of brown rice. The sauce is sweet and savory at the same time, but has a very different flavor than what you would normally get at a traditional restaurant.

Add a few extra sesame seeds to the top, and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Make this Thursday nights for watching Big Bang Theory and feel like you are part of the show!
